Steven M. Ott honored with the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award by the Boy Scouts of America
On April 7, 2010, Attorney Steven M. Ott was presented with the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Award. This is a national award to recognize outstanding service by an adult in the promotion of Scouting for low-income urban youth. This award cannot be earned by completing designated requirements. Rather, it is bestowed in recognition of outstanding service, often long standing, to urban Scouting.
The presenter of the award stated, "Steve works and serves the Boy Scouts of America in the City of Cleveland, West of the Cuyahoga River. He is a long time leader dedicated to the operation of the Two Rivers District. His service to youth and adults in the inner city is demonstrated in his district canoe treks to Tinnerman Canoe Base, his special law merit badge workshops, his fundraising for district activities and his recruitment of untold numbers of volunteers to lead neighborhood and district inner-city Scouting programs. His Scouting includes earning the Eagle Scout Award and receiving the Silver Beaver Award. He has served as district chairman of the Two River District and currently serves as the Great Cleveland Council wood badge training coordinator."
Congratulations to Steven on his outstanding achievements with the Boy Scouts of America.
